We’re at a pretty special point in our brewing journey here at Polly’s where we’re afforded certain perks from our hop merchant – one being access to the new and experimental hops being produced from the Hop Breeding Company.
When we held a meeting with our rep earlier in the year and were told about this incredible new unnamed variety – assigned the number 1019 – that had sent sensory analysts absolutely wild with excitement, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it, and it’s marking its Polly’s debut in One-Sided Love.
Paired with Citra to keep this feral hop in check, we pick up flavour notes of Valencia oranges, peach, honeydew melon, caramelised bananas, and coconut prominently, whilst those bold citrus notes stop this beer tipping over the too sweet edge.
