Hopus has its origins in a secret cuvée brewed for the wedding of brewer Paul Lefebvre. Originally baptized “La Cuvée des Mariés” (“The Newlywed Cuvée”), the Lefebvre family eventually gave it a universal name, Hopus, a contraction of Hop (hops) and opus (work), thus sanctifying the fruit of the earth and the brewer’s labor.
